I like most others do try to gain info from the lights to either hone in on timing, but primarily to ensure I don't royaly screw up and call 2 cuts.

My opinion, fwiw, the entry fees for all of these contests should be higher. It's the only way the club makes money, and the only way we have races is with clubs that support us. $45 won't buy you a tank of gas to drive back and forth to the field. Entry fees should be set up similar to how AMA does...
