Re: Chris Nenzel (EF-1, 426 and Q40) racers for sale

All - I appreciate Dan posting this on my behalf and also the emails indicating interest. My weekdays and weekends have been consumed with work and home projects so it's not been possible for me to post photos here or reply to requests for them. The airplanes are still packed from the move and not a...

Re: Fuel filter or no fuel filter

Fuel filter on the airplane + drawing fuel into the fueler WITHOUT it's fuel filter in line. No need to back flush fuel from the filler back into the jug. ...and as long as I remember that you should be able to see light through the fuel filter on the airplane if you hold it up to the sky my engines...

Re: Lost plane buzzer

300' range... Great for car keys...

Thinking about last years champs race at Denver when the Dara/Loki I was flying went into the field behind the course due to radio problems I don't think a 300' range would have helped me much.

...maybe not so great for lost airplanes?

Re: Mid-size Electric Motor Propulsion System Testing

The ESC is a Castle Creations Phoenix Edge 75. The motor looks to be a Turnigy G60:

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-g60 ... -glow.html

eCalc says the pitch speed with a 10x10 prop would be 98mph using a 6 cell LiPO.

Re: Tutorials for Stabilization and Telemetry on Spektrum, Futaba, Hitec, FrSky Taranis X9D, and more

You do not want to use velcro to hold a stabilization receiver down - the receiver can move out of phase with the airplane. Using double sided foam receiver tape to both secure the stabilization receiver and also null some of the vibration out is a better method. Surprised that the FRSky case couldn...

Re: Proud Bird Canopy

Tape it at the back of the canopy at the top where it meets the fuselage and it won't come off. I can fly it all day long in practice here in reno at ~5000' without losing one but down closer to sea level and in a heat they like to depart company with the airplane... The PB will still fly without th...

Re: Lost plane buzzer

Thanks Kevin. I think a caller would understand the process once it was explained to them but you're right - if someone else picks up your airplane and brings it back to you they might be a bit confused that it's started beeping AFTER they've turned off the power to the receiver. Would be kind of an...

Re: Lost plane buzzer

Kevin,

Watched the video and enjoyed the review. Maybe I missed it but how do you keep it from going into lost plane mode when you intentionally kill the power after a heat?

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Lost plane buzzer

I would not use one which required the RX battery to power it. All of the crashes and midairs I've had seem to move stuff around in the fuselage (or what remains of it) enough to disconnect the battery from the RX. In fact the minor midair I had at the Nats last year in Q40 caused this to happen in ...
