Re: GCRCC/CAPS 20th MOONSHOT RACE.

I thought I registered a few days ago, but I just checked and looks like I'm not registered, so I did it again.

See you there Tom and thanks!

Re: FAI format used at the CAPS Indy shoot out

Getting off the original topic, but still hopefully constructive; on one hand I want to say that I think things could be sped up if the cart driver and the starter were more authoritative and proactive, rather than feeling they are responsible for making sure everybody is present, ready and set (wit...

Re: FAI format used at the CAPS Indy shoot out

Thanks to Tom Melsheimer, Dan Kane, Tom Scott and all the others who continually do so much work to allow us to enjoy pylon racing whatever the format. Regarding the FAI system we tested on Saturday for EF1 and 426, as far as I could tell, mechanically it seemed to go well with no operational techni...

SOLD Lots of F3E/F5D props SOLD

SOLD Was doing a little house cleaning and gathered all my 2-blade electric F3E/F5D pylon props, separated, counted and listed below. Most are brand new, not used. A few have been mounted and/or used. I don’t have every single spacer ring for every single prop, but there are plenty of spacers in se...

Re: Tavares Invitational

Tim Lampe here.

I'm not teamed up with anybody for the Tavares race, so I need a caller and am available to team with somebody for 426 and 422.

Thanks for considering.

Re: Longer course at the classic.

We strive to achieve around 5-15ft past the poll with our racing program, there were multiple times where we didn’t get the light but no cut, so this makes sense. If you’re basing when to turn off the light generally you are going to be long. especially if you are basing it off the Phoenix configur...

Re: Longer course at the classic.

Most of us are attempting to contribute or further the conversation here. Here's my attempt: I've done a little pylon 1 judging for practice sessions when we held the F5D US team trials back in Champaign, IL a few (okay, more than a few!) years ago. Many of you/us have done some pylon 1 judging also...

Re: 2021 426 points - UPDATED

Doesn't matter, but unless I'm looking at this wrong, the points indicate that I've been to only two races, while in actuality I've attended five races as follows:

Muncie, IN 5/15/21
Cincinnati, OH 6/5/21
NATS Prelim 6/22/21
Muncie, IN 8/21/21
Old Julian 10/9/21

Re: P.L.A.T.E. (course equipment) Tom Melshimer (CAPS)

Hello Tom. I was impressed how you incrementally tested PLATE and gradually worked it into the races. I was also pleased with how well the system appears to work and enhance the racing experience. Most important, thanks for your personal expenditure in time and money to put this together. Can't wait...

Re: 2021 Mike Tallman Legacy/NMPRA Championship race

Hey Lonnie, quick question; I was reading through some of the notes about the event and it says to get your plane inspected by you before practice flying. I usually arrive on-site around Thursday afternoon in time to get in a few flights and there are a few other guys there too, but typically no eve...

Re: P.L.A.T.E. (course equipment) Tom Melshimer (CAPS)

I'll post my comments before reading those who commented before me so as not to be influenced, or whatever the correct term would be. :?: First thing I noticed was there were few or no equipment glitches - at least none that I noticed. I believe the communication between all the devices must be more...

Re: 2022 NATIONALS SUGGESTION PAGE

I've read through the suggestions again and have put together my thoughts mostly from what Dan Kane and Jim Allen wrote: With the Preliminaries and then Finals rounds format, people who don't make the finals leave after the preliminaries and some people who make the finals, but are no longer in cont...
