Re: Trials Planning

Awesome Scotty, thanks for the info.

How are things coming along with the takeoff pad and also the ability to turn the course around if needed?

Re: 2022 NMPRA Q-40 Chamionship race - Old Julian Airport - Liberty, NC - Oct. 8 & 9

I am neither for or against this, but I don't think it is good practice to make rule deviations this close to race after people have spent money and taken time off work based on what they thought the format would be. I don't think someone would not show up because it stayed as advertised, but you co...

Cliff Telford Memorial Tangerine 2022!

After the amazing support from last year, the club is very excited to announce the Cliff Telford Memorial Tangerine 2022 dates. I will have more info soon, but please reply to this post if you plan on coming. It really does help show the club and volunteers why we are shutting the field down for a w...

Re: NATIONALS 2022..

I see the good and bad in both. The one thing I think would make the one matrix even better at the nationals (or even all contest) is to add one throw away. There are so many times a top contender was knocked out due to something out of their control (bad plug, ground collision, mid-air with someone...

Re: Longer course at the classic.

Back in the day when I ran races I would instruct the pylon one people to not give a light until they were past the pole. This lead to massive anticipation and lots of free cuts. Later on I instructed them to not give a light until the plane was around the pole and on its way back. This lead to no ...

Re: Longer course at the classic.

When I made this suggestion, it was during the heated “got a light and a cut” discussions. This is a very effective way to help reduce this when used properly. If you have ever sat down at pole 1 and watched the number of lights given because of workers anticipating the light you would be shocked (h...

2022 FAI World Champs and 2022 US team Trails

The 2022 WC are coming up quick and there has been lots of talk around the group, but I haven't heard anything official. Couple question I am sure a few of us have. 1. There is talk the WC is still not 100% for sure going to happen based on travel restrictions being in place. What is the path forwar...

426 plane wanted for new racer

Looking for a 426 plane for a new racer. He did his first race at Tangerine last weekend and he is hooked. He wants to race 426 at Tavares and is looking for a good deal on a 426 airframe. Let me know if you have thing and I will pass on the into.

Thanks

Re: Cliff Telford Memorial Tangerine 2021 "PLEASE READ ASAP"

THANK YOU to all who came out and support the race, it was a great success and we will be doing it again next year. We had near perfect weather for the event. 33 in 426, 34 in 422, and 4 in 424. Robert Vess and a few others have plenty of pics on Facebook, so I will just attach the results. Big shou...
