Thank you Doug K & The Valley Flyers!

Just wanted to say thank you to Doug & the Valley Flyers for the outstanding contest. They didn't let mother nature put a damper on things and got five rounds completed Saturday and three more under much sunnier conditions on Sunday. Congrats to pilot Alex Vazquez and caller Salvador Barrios for tak...

Re: Phoenix Formula 1 Race

Cool videos Dennis! Fun to see some familiar faces, although somewhat sad to realize how many are no longer with us.

Re: Basin Q40 Classic: Remembering Clarence and Peggy Lee

Maybe next year use the original February date. You just killed Tavares by putting it a week before their race. Now we have to chose which to attend. In Doug's defence there was nothing posted about a race in Tavares in that time frame. So I apologize if I offended anyone. Organizing a competition ...

Re: Are Q40 Nelson and Jett motor mounting dimensions the same?

Jim, Comparing the base engine & muffler only, I'm seeing the Jett heavier by 0.6 oz. Of course, the spinner may affect the total. IMG_2258[1].JPGIMG_2259[1].JPG The Nelson has a larger bell on the venturi. I don't always recheck the CG when I switch from one to the other, but I do always re-trim t...

Re: Latest and greatest timing and deck height?

At .191 deck height you add .011 to get to .017 clearance with the older head. The newer head you'll add .008 to get to .017 MEASURE YOU HEADS to see which one you have. Didn't know the heads changed, but I haven't bought any new parts in a few years. That being said, you would need MORE shims for ...

Re: NATIONALS 2022..

While I can't make the Nats, I'll chime in and say I'm in favor of one matrix. We always see big names miss the finals due to bad luck, etc, as well as people make it due to good luck, whether it be a lucky matrix, bad luck for others in their heats, name pulled from a hat, etc. So to say "the best ...

Such sad news. Mike was the epitome of a "Southern Gentleman". Such a nice guy and friend to all who knew him.
Our prayers go out to Mike, Mabel, and the entire Langlois family.

Re: The new EL LS Q40 motor release date?

I guess Rocket didn't like his and he sold it in the "for sale" section on March 15th. :o The 55 second motor wasn’t the new ELS, it was a highly modified Schmidt motor. It went west where they don’t care you grind on them. It’s probably where the ELS came from. Any horsepower freak know the more d...

They only wanted matrix fillers to test it out first. The fast ones are scheduled to receive theirs April 15th. :P

Re: The new EL LS Q40 motor release date?

I can't wait! Between the new engines and new props, times are going to drop just enough to force everybody to buy the new equipment in order to stay competitive! It will be awesome for the sport!
