Re: Your latest creation
Nice! Well, I have a lot of time on my hands, I got furloughed on April 8th. We should get called back the first week of June (I hope!). Trying to enjoy the down time and not panic about the situation. Building my tail off. I figure it will be nice to have a wall full of airframes going into next se...

Re: Your latest creation
Hey! That thing looks Bitchin Tim.
I like the built up wing......some times I think competitive evolution (for lack of a better term) make us forget that one of these things can be built up and flown just the way it all started.
Looks good. Is that clear Ultracote?
Cheers, Dave

The actual Circus Circus Shoe String (flow by Ray Cote) is at the San Diego aerospace museum hanger at Gillespie Field about 10 from my house. It is in very poor shape, sad to see.
Iconic airplane for sure.

Re: Basin Quickee Day
Yes, Thank you Doug for all of your efforts! Once the matrix issue was solved, it was a great day of racing. Several of us were discussing the one day format, and it sure was nice to come home and have day to recover before going back to work. Can we do it again next weekend?? :D :D That was some of...

They are 1/16 birch ply. Tails are coming in at 2.7oz. (Includes hardware). We have 6 flights on the first article, all good. The braces go in with Bob Smith Gold, bonded to the spares on one side, 30 minute epoxy in the other and the final joint. The whole assembly gets glassed into the fuselage. S...

Re: Your latest creation
Well, not as much bling as some of the Q40s In this post - but a project none the less. Ran into an old friend that I had not seen in a while, he runs a machine Carlsbad Airport now, after spraying hundred dollar bills at him for for a few months, I ended up with aluminum tooling for my Ricochet tai...

Re: LiFe pack for Futaba 14SG?
Thanks Tim! I can work with that, there are several on the Futaba USA website. I tried calling the customer service line to order, but for some reason when I push “8” for Futaba RC, the line goes dead......I will send them an email. The Discount Hobby Warehouse here in San Diego has a few on the she...

To any Futaba Reps out there, which LiFe replacement pack on the Futaba USA site would work for the 14SG. I did not see dimensions posted.
Thanks, Dave

Re: EF-1 on life support?
Looks real nice Red. Can’t wait to see the finished airframe. I have been doing a thin coat of clear over white primer lately. Seem to be working. Also, I have had good luck with PVA producing a very nice surface. Most people despise PVA, but after a one or two “failed to release” situations, I star...
