Engine problem solved!

Hey, I think I found the source of my engine woes - I might have a pinhole in the fuel line, but I’m not sure. Re-installing the tank with new fuel line for another round of tests! Stay tuned!

Re: Rusty

So sorry to hear about the passing of Rusty. His Miss Ashley II is my all time favorite, and he shared a lot of information with me about building, painting and flying them. He will be missed.

Re: Are Q40 Nelson and Jett motor mounting dimensions the same?

Alex, Are you sure you have the right drive collet? Nelson and Jett use slightly different thickness and taper. I've been using both brands of engine interchangeably (subject to minor CG adjustment as noted above), and unless the collet is wrong, the dimensions should be practically identical. Chee...

Re: Latest and greatest timing and deck height?

Regarding conditions in Denver - as a local I don’t normally bother to set my motors for Denver unless we have a local race. Jett 426: I have a good setting that has worked well in Phoenix and Wichita. It worked fine in Denver (so no change). I had the speed, just not the thumbs! NQ40: My Wichita an...

Free room and board for the Denver race…

If anyone is on the fence about coming to the Denver race due to expenses, I have several spare bedrooms available at my house. I am about 35 min from the field.

Re: 2022 Mile High Challenge

Don’t forget about the Saturday evening cookout at Brian Neff’s house! He’s only minutes away from the field and said Lonnie is invited this time, if he behaves.

Re: NATIONALS 2022..

Ray’s post reminds me of what happened at Lonnie’s race in Wichita last year: Seven racers tied for first. Three raced in one flyoff, and four in the other. The top two in each heat flew in the final. I would say the winner was definitely the winner. It made for a neat ending.
