EF-1 course NATS course length

There were some really low times at the NATS this year. Is the 3-pole EF-1 course the same length as the standard AMA short course?

Re: NewB

I added some "foam peanuts' to the QuikCrete mix so as to still have the volume to support the inner pole, be light enough to carry around, but still heavy enough to not fall over in a light breeze.

Re: OpenTX / Taranis .bmp images for EF-1

I made an error in the file names of the EF-1 bitmaps. The file name must be NOT more than 10 symbols with NO imbedded blank spaces. If it doesn't meet these naming requirements, the OpenTX transmitter won't recognize it even though it's a legitimate file. I'm pretty sure that some of them have file...

Re: OpenTX / Taranis .bmp images for EF-1

Oh, and another thing. If anyone is using an OpenTX transmitter AND the FrSky S6R or S8R receiver with stability augmentation and telemetry, I would LOVE to have a copy of your .eepe file. I am working on one, but am not quite satisfied with it. Remove the .pdf extension and this should work, it's f...

OpenTX / Taranis .bmp images for EF-1

Several racers are using OpenTX-based transmitters for EF-1. I have made up a small collection of .bmp images that you can use on your transmitter as desired. Feel free to copy and/or distribute as you feel fit to do so. For those of you who don't use OpenTX, these are probably of no use. If you nee...

Re: Latest and greatest timing and deck height?

Rocket: Are the barometric pressures you showed the "local" pressure altitude or are they the sea level pressure? Ft Lauderdale is at sea level and Muncie is at 932' thus the same "altimeter setting" at Muncie and at Ft Lauderdale would have very different actual pressures at the field. But of cours...

Re: FPV Airplanes

It's already happening. MultiGP, the "drone racing group" has a class for fixed wing. I believe that it's more of an obstacle course type race.

Re: FPV Airplanes

It would be interesting to see if it can be done. If you are an FPV guy, strap the equipment on a sport plane or EF-1 as a test, put up some PVC pylons and let us know if it works. I have my doubts if it's do-able, but it might be interesting.

Re: NTxPRO Race #3 15 Oct 16

There was some VERY fast racing today. The competition was quite intense with Jim Plake having a perfect score and Joel "The Bullet" Blackthorne and George Parks down by only 1 point. The wind was a big factor today with gusts up to about 20 mph. Remarkably little carnage, however. This race conclud...

NTxPRO Race #3 15 Oct 16

Sorry about the late announcement. The third race of the NTxPRO season is coming up next weekend, October 15th, at Golden Triangle. It will be a 2-pole race, with two events. Q-25 and Club 40 will race together in the same heats, and there will be a separate EF-1 event. Sarge Bell will be the CD, as...

3-pole racing returns to Texas

By popular demand, 3-pole racing returns to Texas on August 20th at FW Thunderbird field. We will race Q-25/Club 40 (at the same time) and EF-1 on the AMA short course. See attached flier. In the event that we do not have enough judging manpower, we will default to a standard 2-pole race. Also, plea...

North Texas Q-25 & EF-1 race #1 results

Well, it was a scorcher today for Q-25 and EF-1 race #1 here in North Texas. The temperature topped out at about 98 deg but it was really the humidity that made it tough. Wind was a light left crosswind, and that helped out a bit. It was a well flown race with some good heats. We had the obligatory ...
