Indiana Club 40 race September 2021

The weather forecast was for light rains that may have come through before 8 AM but I never saw any. When I arrived around 0830, our host Bob Bast the president of the Southern Indiana Flying Eagles club was waiting and I assisted him in setting up the pylons for our event. As flyers arrived and got...

Re: Midwest Sundowners Race, (Northern Indiana)

Jim,
At present we are planning on driving up. We only have one plane available and not enough room for everyone and gear.

Scotty,
Great Idea! Another option to consider is have the cut pylon light blink instead of just coming on steady as it is now? It would need to blink faster than the heat boards at the staging area.

Jim or DK,
Will the wheel pants requirement on EF1 be waived? Id prefer to go Pantless. if allowed.

Re: P.L.A.T.E. (course equipment) Tom Melshimer (CAPS)

I'm not sure it was clear but the spacing latterly between each lane at Turn one could be wider and the same issue with the High Red and High Green being a bit confusing discerning if it was a cut in that lane as we only glance at the board. In one race I was the caller and thought the other guy had...

Second Indiana Club 40 race of the 2021 season

Well if you attended the NAT's you were aware of the peculiar weather Indiana enjoys. At our club field (just North of Bloomington Indiana) we are in bottom land and usually some time in the spring we will get a heavy rain and our field will be submerged for a while until the water retreats, that ha...

Great Job, Tom and all the GCRCC members! A tip learned early on if you are holding a airplane with the engine running keep your mouth shut! Those bugs went through the prop like a blender and the guts went everywhere, one racer said they tasted like...... Post race I also had bug guts collected on ...

First Indiana Club 40 race results

It got warm in the “Valley of Speed" and I'm not talking about the temperature (which it did I might add. ) Last week our runway was covered in water so we kept a close eye, as the water receded and by Friday the field had been mowed and was race ready for the first Club 40 race of the season! It se...
