Re: Getting Started with FrSky radios and OpenTX software

My FPV Racing Drone Velocidrone model memory was not appropriate for use controlling RealFlight 8 and planes. I created a new model in the OpenTX Companion and walked through the wizard that set up channels. I wound up deleting all if the Inputs, Mixes, and Outputs. In reasonably short order, I had ...

Getting Started with FrSky radios and OpenTX software

As a software engineer and software architect, I have to document a lot of what I do in my jobs. I find it easier to document systems as I learn them instead of after the fact. Then I can refer back to my documentation and correct it as needed. There are lots of of videos on "FrSky" radios and the O...

Re: Duplicating the Mako Shark Q40 Molds

I de-molded the Mako Shark Q40 tail male molds from the original females today (March 31, 2019) around noon. There is only a very tiny flaw in one corner where the elevator joiner goes. It will be a very easy fix. I video taped the whole process and when I have time to edit the video, I will post it...

Re: Duplicating the Mako Shark Q40 Molds

I was doing 2 more layers of mat on the Mako Shark tail molds. I decided I wanted to finish them up tonight and try to de-mold them on Sunday and not be a fool on Monday. I would rather be a fool on Sunday and not ruin my work day if they don't come apart. So I went ahead and put the final layers of...

Re: Duplicating the Mako Shark Q40 Molds

I did a lot again today. Got a late start because of the Benadryl for the Remicade IV Infusion yesterday. Knocks me for a loop for about 24 hours. I mowed, took some photos, mowed some more, did some fiberglass work, did some radio work, did some more fiberglass work, etc. I put two layers of fiberg...

Re: Latest and greatest timing and deck height?

Donny: I’ll see to it that Craig pulls his pants down so you and other sas pilots can spank him. Kind regards Terry Terry, I have to get my engines running well, planes set up, fly them and not crash, etc., before I can benefit from the technology. I use stabilization and telemetry in sport and spo...

Re: Tutorials for Stabilization and Telemetry on Spektrum, Futaba, Hitec, FrSky Taranis X9D, and more

While I'm excited about OpenTX radios now that I'm finally into them, they aren't for everyone.

A good place to start is reading the Manual.

This is OpenTX Companion 2.2 running on macOS Mojave.

Re: Tutorials for Stabilization and Telemetry on Spektrum, Futaba, Hitec, FrSky Taranis X9D, and more

I'm at the hospital having my ever 4 weeks treatment. I have my Taranis X9D Plus and a full radio setup in my cube. The Son of The Day is "Shine" on this album Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid ... Now that's some Rock and Roll. For those who have heard you need to be a computer person to use...

Re: Latest and greatest timing and deck height?

Now that I have sorted through the myriad of timing and deck height comments, I have a new question: where should I set my needle? 2 o’clock? 2:30? 5:00? Kurt Kurt, You have to be very careful setting your engines using the clock hands method. It can get very confusing depending on what time zone y...

Re: Tutorials for Stabilization and Telemetry on Spektrum, Futaba, Hitec, FrSky Taranis X9D, and more

Hi Don, "From the photo it looks like you may be changing the plug on the Spektrum RPM Bracket Sensor. Since the other plug seems to be proprietary, that would make sense." Spektrum actually sells a version with a standard servo plug or you can change the plug. The picture was of a friends. I actua...
