Re: Oakdale, CA Aug. 22/23 2 Pole and 3 Pole Results

Great event and great photos! So glad I didn't end up in the fly-off with Doug!!! By the end of the day he was absolutely blazing around the pylons.

Hope to see everyone at Woodland/Davis!

Re: 2015 Fred Burgdorf Memorial Race, September 12th and 13th

Looks like I'm in need of a caller for this event. EF1 only. If anyone is interested in calling or also in need of a caller please PM me either here or on RCG (also Ronin4740).

Thanks!

Re: EF1 batteries

I've found that these hold their voltage really well through a heat race:

Other guys I race with use Thunderpower.

Re: The shark

You mean the Estrelita/Shark kit that is apparently crushing all comers at the NATS?

Re: EFlite 60 esc....caution

You're only going to pull 60 or so Amps max through the battery into the ESC when running EF1 approved gear. The XT60's are a pretty good choice in my opinion: http://www.amazon.com/XT60-Connector-Pairs-Pack-pairs/dp/B005FAPYXS EC3's are also rated for 60A so you're probably good with them. I've run...

Re: speed controls

The Ice lite 75A is a nice ESC. If you're looking to save a few $$$ as well as a few grams of weight on the nose an alternative is the Hobby King Plush 60A ESC. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__32820__TURNIGY_Plush_60amp_Speed_Controller_US_Warehouse_.html If you go this route I'd suggest ...

Rules question

Do the rules allow for Pull-Pull elevator/rudder systems? Just curious.

Re: Need a little clarification

Hi Chris Thanks for the post! I hope that it will be as simple as what you make mention of. As you can tell from my original post, I'm not wanting to do anything to "stretch" or "circumvent" the rules. I am excited to think that I can get back into racing in a class that may not get "distorted"! Ac...

Re: Need a little clarification

Ken, I'm sure Dan will be around in a minute or two to answer the question. But until then I'll try - I believe the answer is that as long as the airframe complies with the rules listed here and that the plans are made available to others then you can request that your model be approved for racing i...

Re: Approved list up to date?

Interesting. I wasn't aware that a Scorpion motor was tested and am a bit surprised it didn't meet your criteria. I've run them in other planes and have always been impressed with their performance and reliability. Lucien used to be very active in the electric flight arena as well. Could you satisfy...

Re: Approved list up to date?

Dan, It was the airplane list which concerned me when I posted. With OS bowing out of the field for motors is there any thought to approaching another manufacturer? I think Scorpion and Cobra motors are quality items and would most likely run one of them over the other choices if they offered a moto...

Approved list up to date?

Is this list up to date?

http://www.nmpra.net/EF1Approved.htm

If not would the maintainers of the rules go through it and modify it so that is shows the approved airframes, motors and other items please?

Thanks,

Chris
