Shout Out To Darwin Barrie - Oshkosh

I received my copy of Sport Aviation Magazine in the mail today. Congrats to fellow Pylon Racer Darwin Barrie, his RV-7 won Kit Built Grand Champion at EAA AirVenture 2021.

Having been involved in several full scale airplane projects, and been to Oshkosh to watch the judging first hand, I can tell you winning the Lindy is no small feat!

Congrats Darwin!

I can tell you Darwin's masterpiece is spectacular. Below is a link to a few pics of the plane on the Van's Aircraft site. The attention to detail is off the charts. It's too bad there isn't a top view and bottom view of the scheme in these pics.

I flew my RV to Oshkosh this year and saw Darwin's airplane there. Beautiful and no expense spared.

Next day I was walking by and he was hanging out at the airplane so I had a chance to chat with him awhile. Ton's of people poring over his airplane looking at all the nice details. Probably had to wipe all the drool off of it before he flew home.
