Ball bearing tool

Post by KRProton »

Hey guys,

Who makes that ball bearing removal and installation tool for QM40 engines? I've seen a video of the tool in use, but I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks.

Hi Hank.

Thanks, but that's not the one I was looking for. The one I want has some threaded parts for drawing the bearings in.

Tim,
Might want to talk to Shane @ Central Hobbies.
He was talking about one that did not require heat. I have not seen it but that might be the one you are looking for.

I believe the tool in that video is the one that Central hobbies sells, the Triple J fabrication tool.
Out of all the places we could be, this is one of them.

Yep, here it is! I already scoured the Tools section on the Central Hobbies site yesterday but couldn't find it. This time I looked in the Pylon Racing/Accessories section and found it there:

Thanks!

If you get one, let us know what you think. I've been tempted to pick one up, too.

Tim,
The bearing replacement tool you refer to is made by Jack Hinkel from Arizona. I have this tool set and it works very well. Easy and quick bearing replacement without heating the case.

Hi Randy, thanks.

Yea, I found it a couple posts back. Its available from Central Hobbies at the link I posted. I'm already friends with Jack Hinkel on Facebook and he's reached out to me there too.

Thanks again!

I got the ball bearing tool and this handy engine stand directly from Jack Hinkle.

I already had the bearings out of my engine before I ordered the tool, but here's a few pics of installing the bearings. Really nice...no stress on the case or pounding the bearings.
