Tavares Florida March Race

Hey everyone,,,, just an Update

SEMPRA membership drive will be in full swing, so If you want to support Florida racing,,,, Tangerine, Tavares, Daytona,,,, bring an extra 5 Glow Plugs worth of money, $25,, and be a Major Contributor!!!!

SEMPRA fuel order just showed up so we have plenty!!!

Plan on Sunday Breakfast at the field!!!

I have been informed that Spring Break is a major "Problem in life", with regards to Flight schedules and cost! Some guys are forced to fly into Tampa !!!! We are planning on a Sunday 3 pm completion to enable catching return flights!! I looked into this and Spring Break ,like Easter, "Floats" on the calendar!! Next year this race "WILL" be scheduled to avoid Spring Break!!!!!

I have posted Lodging and Eatery information but neglected to remind our "Campers" that there is a very nice RV Resort less than 2 miles from the entrance to the field ~ "Fisherman's Cove"!! Their link is https://fishermanscoverv.us. Check them out if this may be more convenient!

We have found all the Pylon locations,, under a years worth of Bush Hogging remains,,, The launch pad is looking good, I will be flying off it shorty so expect updates soon!!

Only two EF-1 entrants, so did not order EF-1 trophies! I remember Scott Smith agonizing over slower class participation in florida,,, That trend continues..

Let me thank you in advance for making the Trek,, and we at LARKS Tavares are looking forward to supporting your love of Pylon and seeing everyone real soon,,,,

Curious why this Race isn't posted in the ""Upcoming Races Column"" on the NMPRA Page ? Would be more visible to someone that hasn't attended this Race. I had to search the Forums to find it and ask questions to find out. If there are other Florida Or Georgia Races this year. I have No idea when or where they are. Just curious. That's all.

I guess I am not sure as to HOW, events get on the Web-Site????

I am waiting on my "Flyer Guy" but he's been real busy with work, could be a contributor??????

No Worries. And I think you can consider me new Blood being that this will be my first 426 Race. Got some education and knowledge and the privilege of hanging out today with Dennis O'Brien. (Hall of Famer) I learned a lot just being there.

I would like to urge everyone planning on attending the race to Sign-Up, Online,, as soon as possible,,!!!

I use this list to develop the Input file to the Matrix build process.

My goal is to finalize 426 entries early Friday, build the Matrix and hand out Pilot Heat Slips before End of Day! And then repeat for 422,, handing out Sunday Heat Slips Saty End of Day

Morning everyone

I managed to corral our Event Flyer Creator over the weekend

I have forwarded our Flyer to NMPRA for posting on the Event Calendar!

Colored Pylon Mast Streamers are completed, multiple "Masts" are available for eventual Jr. and Terry incursions

The club food committee is "On The Job", and "Breakfast is "ink'd In" !!!!!

Launch Pad is looking very good!!!!

Well I have good news and not so good news,,,,

SEMPRA received it's fuel order,,, God Bless Randy ,, so Pilots,, Tavares and Daytona are all covered!!!

The other Good News is the Launch pad is GOOD!!!! It's as tight as it's gonna get, a few little dimples where the staples are but take-off's seem to be just fine!! Quartering Tail winds aside, We're good to go!!!

The Not So Good news is very few Pilot Entries!!! From the feed back I received this whole "Spring Break" is a major problem in life!!! Spring Break floats with Easter and from what Greg said,,, it's covers a wide area on the calendar and Florida is a prime destination!!!

I picked March because an April race is too close to the first weekend May Julian race,,,, I guess it's best to chalk it up to,,,, "Better to have tried and failed than to not have tried at all"!!!!!!

However,,,, The silver lining is,,,, the guys that will be there are all really really really good pilots so the competition is gonna be "Seriously SERIOUS" and we should be able to get a bunch of Rounds in,, so lots of good flying,,, and we're gonna have fun

Club & Contest Rules

Lake County requires we keep the Gate Closed at all times!!!! Non Negotiable!!!

If you are the last one in or out,, Please latch the gate

Thursday & Friday Safety Inspections MUST occur before any test flying!! Safety Inspection will consist of Demonstrated Fail Safe and, like the Nat's, you must have a "Wing Sticky" to fly!

Hey Everyone,,,,, we have a returnee to Pylon,, a Mr. Dale Harwell and he has purchased numerous airplanes, and motors from Dennis and is test flying in preparation for the Tavares race.

He is test flying Q-40 as well as 426 and hasn't crashed yet, so I appears Dale can fly!!!

So Dale needs HELP in the form of a Caller at Tavares !!
