FAI F3D & F3E(F5D) Team Trails for 2021 World Championships

All,

Old Julian Airport will be hosting the Team Trials for F3D and F3E(former F5D class) on October 9, 10 & 11.

I will use this first post to add notes and news for the contest.

First and foremost, if you are thinking about trying out for the Team, please contact Colleen at (800)435-9262 ext 252. She will let you know what needs to be done for the AMA.

Attached is the Contest proposal.

For the F3E contestants I have attached the limiter instructions. I will be issuing two(2) limiters to each pilot each day. You will not be allowed to use any other limiter.

The CD will be holding inspections on Thursday for all registered contestants. Each contestant can register/inspect three(3) airframes.

Registration form for both classes is below. Please fill out and have available at inspection time.

RULE CLARIFICATION/ALLOWABLE - With regards to the Sporting Code Section 4 - Aeromodelling - Volume F3 - 2020 Edition - Part 5.2.11 - Subsection f - Subsubsection iii - (For F3D)It will not be required to "wrap" your receiver or battery with soft foam rubber, so long as both are securely mounted to the aircraft with soft velcro or other vibration dampening material between the aircraft and the receiver or battery.

Fuel will be available for practice.

Based on current registrations, single plane heats may be used. Depending on several possible conditions, I may change to two plane heats. I will evaluate this each morning.

We will be pitting on the announcer side of the buildings this time. Also the small barn will be open. We will not have access to the big barn. Pack your shade tents.
