Website and Forum Downtime 10/13/2020
Posted: Tue Oct 06, 2020 3:03 pm
Hi,
We are going to need to do some upgrades on the forum software.
The forums and perhaps the website will be taken offline at 10:00 a.m. pacific time on Tuesday, October 13th.
We are planning a 4 hour downtime but hopefully will be faster than that.
All posts and pictures and other data will be remain in tact.
Some look and feel of the forums will change a little but it is basically the same with the newer version.
Thanks,
Joe DeLateur
P.S.: For those interested technically:
The hosting service is requiring us to move to PHP 7.X.
The forums are based on the phpBB software and is at version 3.1.x which does not support php 7.x (currently at php 5.4.6)
So we are upgrading to PHP 7.3 and phpBB 3.3.x
If someone understands the above and finds it interesting. Let me know if you are willing to help with support. Not much work but having me as the only person familiar with the forum software is not ideal.
