Heartland Speed Freakz spring pylon race May 22/23

Heartland Speed Freakz is hosting a spring pylon race on May 22nd & 23rd at Lake Afton flying field in Goddard, KS. For those of you that haven't flown here before you should come on out. It's a great field to fly at and is where the 2020 Tallman/NMPRA Champ race is being held, so you can come out and find your lines.

As usual we'll have our crew of veteran workers, Vernelle will be out cooking her famous burgers & brats and we'll have our usual laid back but competitive racing. This race will be the "normal" format with 426 on Saturday (short course) and Q40 on Sunday (long course). More than likely it will be 3 plane heats with race horse starts but that will be determined based on entries. And keeping with the spirt of Mike, we'll be giving away a brand new Jett 426 engine. Each entry will get you a ticket for a chance to win it.

** In the event of a light and a cut at pylon 1 on the same lap, the cut will stand and a refly will not be given.**

Thanks to Hank Kauffmann HSF will have new turn lights down at Pylon 1. The LEDs are much brighter, trust me they are I'm still seeing green spots, and easier to see. I set up the light system and tested it yesterday. I found a few bugs and fixed them, so we should be ready to go in a couple weeks.

Got the trophies from Tim Lampe, they have his usual great craftmanship and look great.

Turn out is looking really good for Muncie and this race, glad to see so many people getting out and supporting the races. Our list is holding steady at 29 in 426 and 26 in Q40. I do have a couple "maybes" still hanging out there, but I'm guessing it will be right around those numbers.
