Attention,
At the Champ race 3 MFL’s had a wing failure. There is an easy modification to help prevent what happened. All of these models had multiple flights on them.
Although each failure was preceded by an impact on the field we are altering the layup schedule on all future models. If you have an MFL and are not comfortable adding material in the wing to help prevent a potential problem please send to me and I will
make the modification for you.
It is a pretty simple operation. I will make notes and photos of the procedure.
I will get this together in the next few days.

Re: MFL wing and potential issue.
These pix show the inside of the MFL WING INSIDE OF BOTH TOP AND BOTTOM. The area of concern is 3 to 6” from the root.
Pic1 shows where to access the inside. From the end of the spar sleeve to the landing gear pad is where the potential issue is. The simplest way to make this Area more secure is to add a bit of epoxy with micro balloons and thickening agent then a mixture of chopped carbon and epoxy just as you would when reinforcing a firewall. Place this mix in the corners both front and back, top and bottom of the spar from 3 to 6” from the root. Should not take a lot. I will demo and send more pix soon of the result.
Also between the top skin and top of gear pad take light weight gray camera case foam, about 1 3/8 square X 3/8 thick. Saturate with long cure epoxy. Once wet squeeze most of it out into a paper towel. Push this in the space on top of the gear pad. It will easily conform and let cure.
Any questions send me a note or call me. 513-604-6464.
If not comfortable doing this yourself I will help any way I can.
