2023 AMA NATIONALS

Post by mikecondon »

The 2023 Pylon Nationals are part of the 100th Anniversary of the AMA first Nationals.

The NMPRA and supporting organizations will be taking part of this historic celebration during the second day of Pylon week.
Activities include an organized display of pylon racing models from the past. We are asking you to bring some of your historical aircraft to the Nationals to be shown on site and give a story of its history. If any of you would like to give a demo flight, please feel free to do so.
We will have a extended time period for all to enjoy. Other ideas are being looked into that we can share with you at a later date.

The 2023 Nationals will be held on July 8th thru the 14th.
The week will be scheduled as follows:
SATURDAY...424 (8 rounds) Starting at 12pm. Practice flying will be for 424 aircraft only in the morning until 11am.
SUNDAY...Open test flying until 1pm. At that time we will all gather at the main tent to view and take part of the Show and Tell.
Demonstration flights will be at the choice of the pilot. Upon completion of the Show and Tell, we will proceed with the dinner banquet.

We are asking those of you who have photo albums, to bring them with you for the Sunday 100th celebration of history!! A special table area will be provided.
I think this a great idea for all to have a chance to view some of the great moments in our modeling history!!...Thank You!!!

There are a few issues I wish to remind you all of.
Friday will be open practice to all. Saturday morning will be open to 424 contestants ONLY. Mike Helsel will be in charge of processing first thing in the morning. You must be approved prior to flying Saturday morning. Test flying will be closed 30 minutes prior to the start of the race.
We have a addition to this years trophy presentations.
A IRON-MAN award will be presented to the overall winner who competes in all 4 events.
A BEST OF PAST for the aircraft, brought to the event for display, will also be part of the day.
A reminder that the OVERALL CHAMPION 422/426 is just what it says.
