Re: 2023 Tavares Invitational - RESULTS
THANK YOU to the pilots that came to the Tavares Invitational this weekend!
We had a warm and breezy Saturday for 426 - and a coooolllll and breezy Sunday for 422 racing.
We completed 5 rounds each day with 21 pilots in 426 and 19 pilots in 422.
Here are the results:
426: 422: We also had RC Video Reviews come by Saturday morning for some filming and they came back Saturday afternoon and interviewed myself and Matt Fehling. Matt flew a demo flight with his FAI F3D plane for the camera. Thanks John for coming out and joining us!!
https://youtu.be/1umOdUZEjDA - a 22 minute video.
I will post some photos after I get them off my camera... (I'm not as fast processing as John is from RC Video Reviews!)
Thank you again to all that came to fly, work, or otherwise support the event!

I did not hit a pylon, but I did lose an airplane when my aileron servo quit working after I finished the heat. I don't know who hit number one in the video, it wasn't Jett. Jett did hit number three pylon in a later heat.

Tim yousey is man that hit #1 in the second heat.
Re: 2023 Tavares Invitational - Pilot commitment needed
Yep.... it was Tim... He left his wingtip complete with contact information at the base on the pylon...
Tim and Dub were the two that committed 'pylon abuse' during the event... Tim shattered the 2" PVC upright.
I'm going to start a separate thread with the video info - as that may have broader interest than just our race..

Trying to join Sempra to get back into racing. Site is down? Or non existent now? also does Markham park still part of the race circuit? How about Mulberry?

Re: 2023 Tavares Invitational - Pilot commitment needed
Gary Freeman Jr is heading up Sempra.
Both Mulberry and Markham no longer support Pylon.
Florida has the Tangerine first week of December and Tavares Invitational March first weekend after daylight savings.
We go to Julian NC, in 3 weeks, Ohio in June, Muncie in July & August (Nat's & CAPS).
