That's for sure, Gary. You could, in many cases, relive the races heat by heat!!

It must have been 83' - 84' time frame....Jim Shinohara paid me $10.00 to go find one of Nancy's airplanes at Boarder Field in Chula Vista......She was very nice to me when I emerged from the swamp with her airplane!

Those were big contests back then. Great people, pretty airplanes.

Though not a racer, Cathy Kane (Waters), can be seen in the pictures above, longtime starter and caller.

Jessica Thurrott's father is a very active member at my local club, and Jessica still races at local NEPRO races. She is a better pilot than most of our racers and is still very competitive even though she only flies a couple times a year.

As I recall Pattie Violet raced a little Quickie 500. I'm sure there are others out there who have better recollections then myself?
