2023 NATS Processing and Safety Check

Post by MLH »

Here is the schedule for model processing/safety check for the 2023 NATS. This year’s NATS represents a challenge for processing/safety checks as there is a tight schedule for flying and your processing team wants to fly also. If you cannot process during the time scheduled, we will try to accommodate exceptions, but please try to adhere to the schedule as much as possible. Terry Frasier will be doing 424 and 426 and Mike Helsel will be doing EF1 (421) and 422. Contact us if you are unable to process per the schedule.

Below is the safety check list we will be using for processing. You must process your airplanes before you will be included in the matrix and the matrix must be run the day before each event.

As per the AMA rules:

AMA NATIONALS SAFETY CHECK

o All clevises shall be physically held closed.
o All ball links must be tight.
o All screws holding the engine to the mount and mount to the firewall shall be in place and secure.
o Batteries shall be of adequate capacity and a minimum of 250 mah.
o Control surfaces should be firm on the hinge line without excessive play.
o All screws holding the servos shall be in place and secure.
o All single servos controlling the ailerons and elevators must be of the 4-screw mount type
o and of sufficient torque for the application
o Fail SAFE must be operated within 5 seconds of the transmitter ceasing output.
