Club 40 Electric

Post by DonStegall »

After the past couple of years of serious health issues for my wife and I since 2017, I'm finally really getting back into gear with R/C (and music) full speed. I almost died from DVT/PE blood clots on June 30, 2019. Then I had a serious Crohn's Disease flare up that I dealt with through July and much of August. I'm much better now. I have an CT Angio Chest on Friday August 30th. I still get a little winded with mild to medium exterion, but I think the clots in my lungs are gone or close to gone. They are pretty sure the clot in my left leg has cleared up.

Here is a photo of my medium size electric propulsion system testing setup.

This week I will be doing videos, diagrams, documentation, performance, etc on this setup for both 5 cell Silver and 6 cell Gold for Club 40 Electric http://C40E.com . I can even try this motor with the 4 cell Bronze batteries. I will be publishing this stuff on Facebook. Not sure about the NMPRA forums as people just bring me down there.

The system has a Castle Edge 75 http://www.castlecreations.com/en/phoen ... 10-0101-00 with the Spektrum ESC Castle telemetry http://www.castlecreations.com/en/telem ... 10-0148-00, a Castle QuickConnect http://www.castlecreations.com/en/quick ... 10-0079-00, a Castle Arming Lockout Key http://www.castlecreations.com/en/armin ... 11-0067-01, an airspeed indicator https://www.horizonhobby.com/aircraft-t ... r-spma9574, GPS https://www.horizonhobby.com/aircraft-t ... r-spma9587, and everything just as it goes in the plane.

Has a Castle Quick Connect so I don't have to disconnect stuff to get ESC data logging info.

Has the safety key for keeping things from going "live" until the key is removed. I have learned about safety with electrics the hard way. One of thee legs on our dining room table is badly scarred from a runaway little foamie.
