Please remember to use the correct size bolts when installing a backplate mount. IF using the existing backplate and a backplate mount you will need longer screws.

Dan,

Who's mount is this?? Better yet, where can a few be purchased??

I'm no authority, but I am old.. :)

It looks like an old Nelson .40 backplate mount, from the early days of 428.

Disclaimer - I've been wrong before!

Guys,
The DCRC mounts on my website come with the proper bolts and do not need any modifications to fit the Evolution .46. Just wanted to clarify.

Trey,

Gordon is correct. Those mounts are from the early days of 428. Henry sold those mounts with the first run of Quickee motors. You may find some old crusty veterans that have a couple in a box. I am not 100% sure that they use the same bolt pattern as the current style of mounts. Back when I used them I used 3 bolts vs. 4.

DK,

Thanks, I am just not to fond of grinding on something to make it work. Darrol's mount seems to be like the Viper ARF mount, leave the backplate on and use longer bolts.

Trey,

Use Dub's mount. It comes ready to go with the right bolt pattern, no back plate required, and standard mounting holes.

Either a NiCad-Starter or a wraparound type connector will work with this engine.

The head button is coated with blue material (probably anodized) and keeps some of the connectors from working. The head button on the right is a new one. The one on the left has a couple engine runs. Head gaskets are also on the one that has been run.

Horizon has been notified of this issue and replacement head buttons (without anodizing) should become available.

Replacement Head Buttons are now available for the Evolution 46 NX.

My original stock Head Button was anodized and would not work with a clip-on-style connector.

The replacement version does not have anodizing. This change should allow use of a conventional clip-on-style connector that is prevalent with glow drivers.
