I was recently lucky enough to acquire two Precious Metal airplanes from Paolo.

The pictures below show the servo locations and pushrod connections:

I used conventional receivers without gyros in my models. A piece of foam covers the receiver and battery.

A standard Life 700 mAH battery is used.

There is plenty of room for any of the standard 6 ounce tanks. I used a Jett CG tank and held it in place with a hook and loop material (available at Harbor Freight or similar).

A single servo is used to move the ailerons. This model has huge ailerons and therefore reduce the throw as needed.

There are two different types of landing gear struts available.

These are the traditional swept forward versions that are good for grass and forward CG locations (82 mm).

The vertical version is for a more rearward CG location (further back than 82 mm). Use of this one can be used to minimize bouncing if you have a more rearward CG.

The pictures below show the two types. I located the axel so that it is approximately 1/2" forward of the CG location.

I prefer to keep an engine installation simple by not using the provided cowl.

This picture shows the installation that I intend to use.

Hey, Scott - do you have any flight time on these great looking birds?

I have several flights on them.

They fly similar to a Strega. These have right thrust built into the firewall. This reduces the amount of rudder needed on the launch.

They have a little more dihedral and that makes landing easy.

I plan on bringing them to the NATS.

See you soon!

There is plenty room for a gyro. Below is my installation.
