Just as a matter of interest, below are the dimensions of the FAI course vs. the AMA long course:

I will be providing the limiters for this contest. We will be using the same style limiter that was used at the 2016 WC with one EXCEPTION. The "RC pulse in" lead will be approximately 7CM long. Attached is the picture of the limiter.

You will need to make sure that you adjust your airplanes to accept this limiter. NO OTHER LIMITER WILL BE ALLOWED

I will be at the field on Thursday and Friday all day. I will have materials on site to help with the conversion if you do not want to do beforehand.

The Team Trials are complete!!! There were three competitors. The weather was great both days with variable winds. We ran 8 rounds on Saturday and 4 rounds on Sunday. A several sub minute times were posted by Bruce Brown & Jim Nikodem. Their equipment was dialed in. I had some motor issues, but settled in and had a few fast(ish) heats.

So without further ado.......

Way to go guys!

That Bruce Brown huh!  He DOES know his way around the pylons!

Wish I could have been there.

Who flew what? Looks like Jim's sportin' one of my Dominators.

Nice race times too! :P

Congratulations!

Tim,

Jim swapped between two D05/06's and a Dominator. Bruce flew a D16 exclusively. I flew a D06 the whole time.

Bruce and Jim were on point most of the time. A bobble once or twice each. Very few cuts for either of them. I had the lions share trying to catch up. My last heat I think I had 5 cuts!!! I was firmly stuck in 3rd place and was no danger to pull an upset.

Well, you did post some competitive times, so you're there once you can settle in on a plane and a setup.

That D16 flies like butta! (I mean, easy and smooth!).

BBR is coming out with a new plane. He posted a partial pic on Facebook. The fuse might be longer (like the D16 is compared to the D06).

Yeah, I am interested in the D16. Thinking about getting a pair.

I saw the Facebook post from BBR. Interesting!!

Working pylon Two on Saturday allowed me a great opportunity to learn more about this facet of pylon in the down times. You guys have some interesting challenges with the rules and I'm impressed by the speed and technology. Of course it was nice meeting the out-of-towners, too! Congrats to each of you! You will represent the USA well in Japan.
