returning to racing

I'm thinking of returning to Racing, I'm thinking of EF1, Is there an up-to-date list of kits and components?

In the high performance section of RC Groups' forums, you can find many threads on various EF1 planes, motors, etc.

I started with a Horizon LR-1A Pogo, now flying a couple of kit-built planes. Horizon now has the Shoestring, and Tower now has the Proud Bird, which I hear good things about. These are ARF's, make it easy to get started.

I've been using the Castle Creations Ice Lite 75 amp speed controls with good success, and either the e-flite or the OS motors on the approved list of hardware. Aerowind has a motor that one hears good things about, and Tower's got a recently approved Rimfire motor.

Hobby King had a motor recently approved, but read through the threads - some folks have had reliability issues already with them - hopefully it's teething pains with the production motors - but in the meantime it would be hard to go wrong with the four I mentioned above.

Is the Invictus Legal and available and an ARF?

The Invictus is an ARF to be available from Hobby King. It is not yet commercially available. Only a few prototypes have been flown. Once it comes on the market, I will update the list of approved ARF's

ESC recommendations anyone for my Shoestring with e-flight 25 1250kv motor

I've been using the Castle Creations Ice Lite 75's in my EF1. I think now they have the "edge lite" 75 to replace the ICE series.

I bought a 'Castle edge lite 75' ESC for my EF1 Shoestring. Do I need to do any special programing to it, to get top performance from battery, motor, ETC.?
