Hi everyone,

The Oakdale May 31st and June 1st is coming up.

The Unlimited Flyers who are hosting the race are working hard to bring racing back to this great venue.

It will be two separate one day events.

Saturday will be our usual 2 pole T-34, Electric Formula One, .46 Mod and Unlimited.

Sunday will be 3 pole Electric Formula One and 424 Q500.

For those who race both days in Electric Formula One there will be a trophy and prize ( Thunder Power EF1 Battery) for most points accumulated over the two days.

RV parking with no hook ups is available at the field Friday and Saturday.

It is $15/night. Please stop off at the Woodward Reservoir Park on your way in and pay and keep your receipt. If you aren't able to do that, then we'll collect the fee at the field and pay the ranger.

We'll follow the usual schedule of registration 7:30 - 8:30. Pilots meeting 8:45. First heat 9:15. Any questions or help needed, let me know.

We will have generator power for EF1 chargers and the club will be having a lunch BBQ.

Prepare to go fast and turn left.

Regards,
Joe & Sandra

Following are directions to the field:

Directions: Take HWY 120 north of Oakdale to 26 Mile Rd. Turn north on 26 Mile Rd. Turn right on Eastman Rd (just north of Woodward Reservoir), approximately 2 miles to field.

Joe,

do you know if the course will be set up for practice Friday?

Thanks!

Yes. Pylons will be up all day Friday for practice.

Look forward to seeing you at the race.

I think on one of the other groups you asked for Motel suggestions.

Sorry, I don't have any specific recommendations...we'll add trying to arrange some race rates to the checklist for next race at Oakdale.

Regards,
Joe

Thanks Joe. I did ask for recommendations but did a bit of research on my own and decided that the Holiday Motel had decent enough reviews while being fairly economical.

Look forward to the racing!

There were some great racers and some great racing at Oakdale yesterday and today. Really had a blast!

Three pole is a hoot - Here's a video from my hard hat mounted GoPro from Round 1 - Heat 2. I regret not starting the cam at the beginning of the race but what I got is CERTAINLY worth watching!

A big thanks to the Oakdale club and Joe Delateur for working together to put on this race. Even better for 2 pole one day and 3 pole the next. I'm a believe it's 2 different products and they both have appeal. Nice to see many stick around and try out the 3 pole. I heard positive feedback from the pilots right up until the mention of lane stickers for the 3 pole event...lol.

BTW, this is a beautiful spot to hold racing....the club did a fantastic job of getting the field ready.

Great Job!!!

Fun, fun, fun! GREAT JOB JOE DELATEUR AND THE OAKDALE CLUB FOR A GREAT TIME. Couldn't keep my EF1 stuff alive during test flying to compete with the sparky guys this weekend, but AMA 424 was a kick. AMA 424 entries consisted of the "Crows Landing Gang" dusting off some ThunderTiger equipment and duking it out. All I can say here is lane 2 kicked some serious lane 1 butt. I have never experienced a event like this with so many new faces (to me). Sunday turned into what seemed to me like a 20 year high school reunion with multiple hand shakes/hugs with comments like I haven't raced you in 20 years. Lots of "old pylon buds" catching up on 20 years of lost time. This is the first time this club has put on a 3-pole race in 20 years (guess). For the Oakdale Clubs first race with a prototype "race coordinator/lighting system" they did a great job. Each consecutive heat saw great improvement getting familiar with Joe's lighting/timing system. Posting some picture now, with lots of stories to be told here when my time permits.

Great job Joe and thanks tour for your commitment to grow 3-pole racing in central California.

Great Photos!

I took video with GoPro on my hard hat. Here's the link to my channel. Oakdale 2 is particularly good racing (just wished I'd caught it from the beginning)

My thanks to the Club members for letting us race, to the Volunteers for giving their time and to Joe for doing all the work to build the matrix for two days of racing and doing a great job of keeping us informed and on point!
