is this NATS legal ?

Proud Bird with a not so proud tail skid. I lost the tail wheel and replaced it with a skid. I can take off as is just fine.

Do I need to have it be just like the model was designed and was built? Just wanna know before driving 900 miles. I can cobble one on if needed.
