Is there a future for FPV Model Airplane (Reno type) racing?............ 8)

It would be interesting to see if it can be done. If you are an FPV guy, strap the equipment on a sport plane or EF-1 as a test, put up some PVC pylons and let us know if it works. I have my doubts if it's do-able, but it might be interesting.

I've given this some thought... Am thinking it be better done with EPO foam combat wings (which they're already doing) as they're more durable...

Still I don't think the rules expressly prohibit FPV flight. Not quite sure how the launch would go or what you'd do if you lost orientation after rounding Pylon one and couldn't find Pylon 2... Still worth trying if you're so inclined. The Outrageous or the Scarlet Screamer would be good platforms - the canopy is just right for installing a small vid cam.

I was thinking Reno type FPV racing. I read somewhere that a FPV pilot has to have a Ham radio License??? 8)

Depends on the frequency and power of the transmitter.

It's already happening. MultiGP, the "drone racing group" has a class for fixed wing. I believe that it's more of an obstacle course type race.
