Here are the winners from the first (to my knowledge) FAI Pylon World Championships. It was held in Lakehurst, NJ. First was T-V Team, Second Jim Booker, Third Mike Helsel. The other guy is from Sweden I believe his name was Karlsson. This race was flown on the standard NMPRA course and the scoring was based on heat wins not total time.
On a side note one of the British team members was named Alan Mann who managed the Ford GT 40 program for LaMans.

WOW!
Thanks for posting that. I vaguely remember one of my first RC magazines in 1974 with Bob V holding his pylon racer, I guess the caption said it was a BobCat? I love how sleek the airplane looked and this got me to switch from CL to RC.
