FrSky / OpenTX Setup Sharing

Post by DonStegall »

As I mentioned in another thread, I have set up a DropBox folder for sharing radio setups.

There is now an OTX file shared at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/40bf9sany35m ... v8Jsa?dl=0

This setup for Q500 and Q40 was created by Scott Hartman (and possibly others contributed).

It uses the throttle stick to change the rates.

By my understanding, the rates are in flight mode with lower rates when the throttle is above a high point and when the throttle is low, the rates are higher for more authority on landing.

You do not need a FrSky transmitter to have a look at the programming.

If you go to https://www.open-tx.org/, you can get OpenTX Companion. There are versions available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

I recommend you get 2.2.3 at https://www.open-tx.org/2019/01/06/opentx-2.2.3.

After installing OpenTX Companion, just use the File, Open... option to open the OTX file.

I''m going to modify these for use with RealFlight so I can experience how Scott is setting up his planes for racing.

If you want to see what the FrSky Stabilization configuration looks like, get the file at https://www.dropbox.com/s/jjo2ixibuyil8 ... 5.zip?dl=0 ... Unzip the file and run the SxRConfig.exe program in the resulting folder at S8R-PC config tool170925 ... You will not be able to "Open" a configuration unless you have the STK hooked up to a S6R or S8R receiver. But you can play with all of the tabs except for the Accelerometer Calibration page.

Jason Oliver posted on my personal Facebook page an attack on my posting on the NMPRA forums.

I'm documenting what I do and learn so others may benefit from what I learn and do.

I have taken a deep dive into OpenTX and FrSky radio equipment. I have a lot more to share including a lot of stabilization and telemetry work. I have many new videos in progress.

He stated that no one wants to see this stuff and that I need to stop posting here and wasting people's time.

I don't care about the people that don't like what I write and do.

If only one person besides me benefits at all, I feel it is worthwhile.

I get lots of emails, so I know that what I do matters to some people.

But I can shift all of my posting to Facebook and RCPRO.

If you want to see more or if you at least find what I'm doing informative or somewhat interesting, please post a message here so I know and others know.
