Pilots,
Please make sure you send your entry forms over to Dan Thordarson as soon as possible.
We need to coordinate logistics and need to know how many pilots will be attending.
As usual, the San Gabriel Valley RC League (Whittier Club) will provide lunch to the registered pilots, so we need a head count for the weekend.
Thanks, and look forward to seeing everyone at the race!

Interesting ... Dub & Chuck vying for 1st on Saturday and vying for last on Sunday.
The wheel of fortune turns. The race goes not always to the swift. It's anybody's race, every single time.
I guess that's why we keep doing it.

Tied for 1st going into Round 1

At least Dub had two points Sunday! I got bad air behind Dean in the first round, and the hit was impressive.
Our flyoff on Saturday was awesome, and Dub turned a personal best time!

Re: Dave Gavin Memorial Oct 22-23 Whittier Race
Well, the Fifth Dave Gavin Memorial pylon race is officially behind us...
We had pilots attending from North Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and all over California, who generated 97 entries over the weekend in all three classes both days!
Big thanks to all who came over to support the event.
Great job by all the members of the San Gabriel Valley RC League, who hosted the event and provided lunch, including on Friday during practice.
Thanks to Margaret Tyree and Raydeen Timpano for feeding us AMAZING lunches Saturday and Sunday!
Thanks to Gilbert Lucero and Rick Tyree for their leadership orchestrating the logistics of the event with volunteers and other tasks.
Thanks to Chuck Andraka for all his computer related help. (also, thanks for posting the results above).
Thanks to Robert King for his help with the Matrix.
Thanks to Gary Glasband for his great job as our Starter, and Andy Heisler for announcing heats. These two guys kept the pace of the race all weekend!
Thanks to Randy Ritch (Ritch's Brew) for providing top quality fuel for our race!
Finally, thank you to my friend and teammate Dan Thordarson!
Let's keep racing alive by supporting as many events as we can.
I know a couple of people took some pictures, so please post them here!
In the next few weeks, we will be announcing the 2023 racing schedule, so stay tuned...
Until then, fly fast, turn left and listen to your caller!
