We have confirmation from the club at Scobee field in Houston, TX to host a race the weekend of October 21. I will work on getting a flyer up on Monday. We will run 426 and 422 for sure. We will run EF-1 and 424 as long as we have entries to support.
For those who have never been, Scobee is a great field. Excellent runway. Please plan on coming and racing with us. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll add more info as we go.

Doug your are correct, we post early on the Calendar to hopefully provide visibility for other venues to use for their schedules.

I understand. Unfortunately, this was all I could get with the Houston club. I will do my best to avoid overlap next year.
Either way, I don't expect it to impact either race significantly.

For those of you who can attend, please make all effort to do so. If we have a good outcome, I'm hoping the club will consider making this an annual event.

Sounds good I didn’t make last year‘s race so I will definitely be there. Thanks, Duane.

I have posted a flyer with Mike, and should be up shortly.
For travel arrangements, either of the airports are fine to fly in to. IAH may be slightly easier to get to and from on that side of town.
There are many hotels to choose from close to the field. The field address is 17260 Westheimer Parkway, Houston TX 77082. You can use that as a reference to search hotels.
For those who haven't seen the field (it's been a while since we raced here), it's a good place to race. Very wide concrete runway.

I am posting an announcement that we have confirmed we will be allowed to use the Scobee field for our contest October 21 and 22.
Some had overheard that there was a temporary shutdown of the field due to a fire that occurred due to the extreme dry conditions. October is a fairly rainy season for Houston, and we have had enough rain now to reopen the field. So, for anyone who had concerns, we will be racing at Scobee Field.
On another note, I have not had any entry interest in EF-1, except for 1 maybe. Because of this, and in effort to save time on Sunday, we will take EF-1 off the schedule.
With that, the schedule will be:
Saturday, October 21- AMA 424 and AMA 426
Sunday, October 22 - AMA 422
The current 10 day forecast shows perfect racing weather for the weekend. Look forward to seeing everyone here.
