Replacement for Futaba 9650?

Post by KRProton »

Does anybody - a Futaba pilot or not - know the closest replacement for the 9650?

Even a suitable JR servo?

Though more modern servos have been introduced, I've kept with the 9650s as long as I could due to their economy, precision and reliability. But alas, they have been discontinued.

I just can't get used to the idea of paying a gazillion dollars for a servo, but I'm sure those days are gone.

Thanks if you can help.

Tim, look at Savox servos. I’ve been using them and have had good luck with them.

Tim,
I am using the Futaba S9670SV. It seems to be basically the same as the 9650, but it is rated as a HV servo. It does cost a bit more.

That's not too bad (the price - $84.00). And resin gears too. Thanks Bob!

Of course! Now that I look, the 9670SV is discontinued! So my question stands, but is expanded: What is a replacement servo for the 9650 and 9670SV? I know it's going to hurt the wallet!

Thanks again.

Which Savox servos?

I've been asking the same question as Tim for a while and no one seems to have an answer

Tim,

Sorry about that! I didn't know that the 9670 had been discontinued. I have a stack of them in my cabinet and I just suggested those.

Thanks to Randy for the latest info.

The Futaba web site shows the CM600 listed at $159.99. That seems to be a bit expensive. I will probably go to the JR3411 or 3422 when I need to buy new servos. JR makes very good servos.

Hello Bob, thanks again.

I ordered some Savox SH-1350Ps. I'll try them in a Quickie, or maybe just go ahead and put them in my next Q40. I'll go with the JR 3411 in the future as well.
