Great guy. I have fond memories of him. Lots of laughs.
Re: Dave Lasha
This is a very sad day in the Pylon community. Mr. Latsha was always the life of the party and was a big contributor for decades with the promotion of Pylon Racing. Thank you for everything that you have done for us Sir.
May you rest in peace. Von Der Hey

Nothing but fond memories of a great competitor and gentleman
Re: Dave Latsha
Dave was one of the "gods of racing" when I started in the early '70s, in the Midwest. I still remember the mixture of thrill and jealousy whenever he would pull up in his big yellow motor home with the action painting of the yellow & black Rivets emblazoned on both sides. I stole one of his crashed airplanes out of the Dumpster (sorry, Ray, I was there first!) and copied the airfoil for my QM15 Stinger design. At Rough River, KY, before we had the 300-foot setback requirement, everybody used to park & pit on the little bluff overlooking the racecourse. This was about 200 feet away from the front stretch, with the airplanes going by more or less at eye level. I tried to park close to his camper on the #1 side. Never needed it, but that was one time I didn't mind being in his shadow.
RIP Dave, condolences to the Latsha family, and much respect for a life well lived.

Sorry to hear about Dave. I raced against him back in the 70's at some of the bigger events. Great guy. RIP Dave
