A few years back I published how to install a lipo on an airplane starter. This thread is my updated method.
Begin with the items shown in the picture. The black velcro is double faced and was purchased from Harbor Freight.

The wood pieces were attached with Shoe Goo. The pictures show a 3 cell 1500 mAh pack. Larger sizes can be used but are not necessary.

A small piece of plywood protects the battery from items on the ground.

A couple strips of double sided Velcro are used to tie things together.

A 3 cell pack provides enough power to start Q40 engines.
