2022 Denis Lyon Memorial Race Pre-Entry
Pilots, Callers, support personnel, public....

March 19th & 20th with Friday the 18th as practice day, we will hold our annual Denis Lyon Memorial Pylon Race at Whittier Narrows Park, hosted by the San Gabriel Valley RC League.

Classes offered both days:
424
426
422

Please make checks payable to: San Gabriel Valley RC League PayPal payments have been provided with a link on the event flyer

NOTE: The first entry form indicating 3 to a team will be logged and any additional entries indicating the same team members already on a 3-person team will be placed on the matrix as “orphans” so contact your teammates before sending in your forms!

Please provide ALL your information no later than Friday March the 18th, since the matrix for each class will be built that day.

NOTE: “rule deviation” In the event a pilot receives a turn light and a cut light during the same lap, the cut light will prevail and a re-fly will not be granted.

We’ve lost many trees in the pit area due to disease so make sure you bring your shade pop-up!!

No FAA Number on your Aircraft = No Flying!

Pilots,

Get your entry forms over to Dan Thordarson right away.
Remember that this will be a two, one-day races weekend, so if you can't make it to the races both days, just come and join us one day.
All three classes will be flown both days (424, 426 and Q-40)

The entries are flowing in nicely including a strong attendance from Team Mexico and Team Brazil.
Come race with us in the fastest air in the country, where both current AMA Speed records have been set!

Just be nice to your wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend the next three weekends, so they'll give you the thumbs up to come join us ... Take your dog to the Vet now, not the race weekend... Go surfing this weekend, not the race weekend... Do your yard work this weekend, not the race weekend... You get the idea!

Local SoCal pilots... Remember that Whittier Narrows will be the only venue offering Pylon Races in SoCal this year (as of right now), so take advantage of this and come join us.

Great news Friday practice will be provided Pizza for your enjoyment and our Mexican Bar on Saturday and Italian sandwiches for Sunday!

Saturday menu: from La Mano, carnitas, rice, refried beans, fresh corn tortillas, red and green salsa, beverage.

Sunday menu: Italian deli sandwich, chips, brownies, beverage.

Pilots,

Robert King will be posting the teams for this race here in this forum thread later tonight.
Make sure you check your teams for accuracy and contact Robert if there are any conflicts.
We will build the Saturday Matrix on Friday afternoon after practice and the Sunday Matrix on Saturday afternoon after the Saturday race. If you have any conflicts for Sunday and need to make any changes, make sure you see Robert King before he leaves the field...
Only pilots who have registered online OR have mailed their registration forms to Dan Thordarson will be in the Matrix. If you don't see your teammates in Robert's list here tonight, call them and have them contact Robert King.

Hello All,

Here are all the teaming lists. Please look them over. This list will be at registration also Friday so please make sure all is correct.

Some names I have no registration but they are supposed to be there so make sure you have your AMA at registration.

Teams and registration need to be locked down by tomorrow afternoon.

I will be at the field Friday (tomorrow) so let me know of any issues.

FYI there are no teaming issues with 424 for the weekend. If you are planning on flying 424 and haven't registered please let me know. We are flying 424 both days.
