Re: Phoenix Q40 Classic Feb 2025
Thank you to everyone that came out and supported the restart of the Phoenix Q40 Classic race.
Congratulations to Jim Allen for outlasting all others and winning the event not once but twice. Yes, we had a problem with the first fly-off and Jim had to repeat the win to lock it down.
Matias got fast time with a blistering 58.77 - with this came an APC provided $200.00 that I need to get to Matias. I apologize that in the pre-race confusion I did not see this offer from Robert @ APC as a bonus to the $50.00 cash heats. Matias I will have your money at the PHX Jet Storm.
Thanks to our sponsors:
APC Propellers for the $50.00 cash heats @ 8 rounds and the Fast time $200.00 prizes
Ritches Brew for the race fuel
House of Balsa/ZAP for the CA Glue
Darrol Cady sponsored a couple of cash heats
Best Western Plus (Surprise) for the discounted rate
I want to publically apologize
to everyone that was forced to suffer through our issues with the restrooms, of all the things the planning committee focused on this was not even on our radar. I was scrambling to correct it, but could not figure out how to get the service provider onsite to help us out. I am hoping the PROs of the event outweighed the CONs and we can see everyone return in 2026 for the next Q40 Classic. We are already planning on how to make it even better.

Re: Phoenix Q40 Classic Feb 2025
Bill and Gerald,
I wanted to say thank you and your team for a well organized and very well run race. We had a great time this weekend, and it was good to be back racing at Speedworld. I know it takes a great deal of work and effort to pull off hosting a race.
Thanks again,
DC

Great race, guys! Well done!
You did a great job recruiting and training the workers. The CAP Cadets did a very good job officiating the race. The veteran starting crew did great as well. Very few reflies or complaints.
All of the "extras" were great as well. Good food, good weather. Yes, the toilets need attention, but we survived that!
Looking forward to next year.
